Tito Karnavian has expressed his appreciation for the quick response from the South Jakarta Police that managed to solve the problem in less than 24 hours. “Thank God, Sister Safira has been saved and the kidnappers have been arrested,” said Tito in Jakarta on Tuesday as reported by kompas.com.

Safira was kidnapped in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, at about 10 a.m. on her way to University of Indonesia campus on Monday. The car that took Safira was hit by another car. When Safira wanted to move to a taxi, the people forced her to enter to their car.
Safira is now in the process of recovering from the trauma due to the kidnapping, according to Tito, adding that the motive behind the crime was US$1 million ransom.
The five alleged kidnappers are Ali, Norman, Ijul, Hadi and Rully. They face 12 years in prison for their crimes. (bbn)
