Jakarta. Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves increased 2.35 percent in February, thanks to rising oil and gas revenue and the sale of foreign-denominated government bonds that exceeded foreign debt payment.

Reserves climbed to $104.5 billion at the end of February, up from $102.1 billion a month earlier, the central bank said in a statement on Monday (07/03).

"Bank Indonesia reckons the foreign exchange reserve position is able to support the resilience of the external sector while maintaining a sustainable economic growth," said Tirta Segara, a director at the central bank.

According to the statement, foreign exchange reserves were enough to pay for 7.6 months of import requirements or for 7.3 months of imports and payment of the government's foreign debt.
