据印尼《雅加达环球报》3月10日报道：印尼安全部长鲁胡特（ Luhut Pandjaitan）说印尼政府决定扩大2016“提弄巴拉”(Operation Tinombala)的联合行动，该行动的主要目的是搜捕在苏拉威西中部的波索丘陵里的流亡恐怖分子，该行动由印尼特种部队负责。

鲁胡特说自1月10日开始以来该军事行动旨在抓捕正在潜逃的恐怖分子。

桑托索（Santoso），一个在印尼备受关注的军事组织领导人，他效忠于伊斯兰国组织，领导东印尼圣战组织或“东印尼真主伊斯兰游击队”(MIT），近年来为了躲避警方追捕而躲在波索地区的丛林中。约有2500名军人和警察在搜捕桑托索。

鲁胡特周三说第一阶段的军事行动结束了，但是在接下来的6个月该军事行动仍将继续，而且特种部队将被部署在3月14日的军事行动中。

The Indonesian government has extended Operation Tinombala 2016, its mission to hunt terror fugitives in the hilly jungles of Poso, Central Sulawesi, led by the Special Forces unit Kopassus, Chief Security Minister Luhut Pandjaitan said on Wednesday (09/03).

Speaking during a visit to Poso, Luhut said the operation has yet managed to capture the country’s most wanted terror fugitive since the mission on Jan. 10.

Santoso, a high-profile Indonesian militant who has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State movement, leads the East Indonesia Mujahidin, or MIT, which has for years evaded police by hiding out in the jungles around Poso.

Around 2,500 military and police personnel are currently looking for Santoso and his fighters under the leadership of Sr. Comr. Leo Bona Lubis.

“The early stages of Operation Tinombala 2016 has ended today [Wednesday]. We will continue [the operation] for the next six months,” said Luhut as reported by Antara news agency, adding that Kopassus will be deployed to help the operation on March 14.

Luhut said he appreciated the results of two-month operation, which has arrested and killed a number of fugitives, as well as confiscated militants’ weapons, amunitions and handmade bombs.

The most successful raid of the operation was recorded on Jan. 21, when the police were involved in a series of gunfights with members of Santoso's group, leading to the deaths of nine members and 21 arrests.

Another one Santoso’s followers was also shot dead on Feb. 28 in the mountains of Poso district after a shootout with the police.
